ENERGY DRINKS ALERT

April 2011

In recent months there have been a number of reports of Hyperactive/ disruptive behaviour following the consumption of these drinks (there are several different brands of these High Caffeine drinks available).

A school in Worthing and a school in East Sussex have reported Hyperactivity amongst pupils consuming the drinks, one school asked the local shops to refrain from selling these drinks to the pupils in the school uniform. More recently in Hampshire the Police have asked the shop keepers in Whitchurch to stop selling Energy Drinks to under 16's to try and stop the Hyperactive, disruptive behaviour.

Scientists in North Kentucky University USA, found that High Caffeine Drinks mixed with alcohol consumed by young people caused them to get into more trouble than if they were just drinking alcohol alone, setting up a risky scenario.
